Gambe

Beautiful Resort

Yesterday Melissa and I decided to try the bus system to get out to Gambe, a beautiful resort on the outskirts of Santa Cruz. It’s usually a 70-100 B ride, so we thought we could save some money. We met at Hipermaxi and hopped on bus 79, for 2 B’s, rode for a while and got off and caught another bus to the office, where we were going to catch a 10 B bus ride to the resort. The total cost would have been 14 B’s. Only when we got there we would have had to wait for an hour for a bus out there, so we paid 50 B’s for the taxi ride from where we were. Ugh.
Now, I wouldn’t do any of this bus riding stuff if it wasn’t for smart, strong, and brave Melissa! She gets me out there!

Anyway, we were so hot by the time we got there we just jumped right in the pool! It was so refreshing. I don’t even know how many pools there are there, but the place is huge. There are 3 big pools just in one area.

We swam for a while and then we headed over to do a little kayaking. Lots of fun there. Swimming works up an appitite so we headed for a snack and then the rain started. It poured. But after 10 minutes it cleared up and was beautiful.

We headed over to this huge area where they have exotic birds. Toucans, parrots, peacocks. There’s this huge tower you can climb to see a fantastic 180 degrees of beauty. We were a little freaked out by a couple of birds that we thought might attack us.

We went and swam again and then headed home to get ready for the Halloween party with friends that night.
