This was the first day of school for all the staff at SCCS. There are almost 100 staff members at the school, including the kitchen help and all the guards. It was really a typical day of staff meetings and working in the classroom, much like it is in the U.S. Very nice staff. One of the rules is that only English is to be spoken at school. We were doing a team building activity, and the rule certainly wasn't being followed in our group. Wonder how the kids are going to react to the rule in the classroom when the teachers can't even follow the rules!

After school the elementary principal took 4 teachers in her car for a drive around the neighborhood, and to the huge market. We shopped for plants, fruits and vegetables, and other household items. It reminds me a lot of China. You see something you like, ask several different stands for the price, and then try and bargain it down a little.

Nice day....many more to follow!

Chicken Feet?! Are you going to prepare some? Counter the non English in the adult setting with someone who does pig latin. See what the reaction is. Love and miss you!

I spent the day at school too. Take care of yourself and don't get sick!
Linda Warnick just got back from China. She had a great time except for a kidney infection the last week.
