Morning Stroll

5:30 am is a great time to walk!

overcast

Many mornings at 5:30 am, Susan and I venture out for a morning walk. Can't say that it is any cooler, cause it doesn't cool down overnight like the states. But there are a lot less people out. And less traffic so you don't have to work so hard to not get run over!

One of our favorite walks in along the canal where there is a market that sells fresh and flopping fish of all kinds, including eels. There is this huge vegetable market with all kinds of vegetables, some of which I have never seen before. People here shop everyday for fresh meat, fruit and vegetables.

There are people who drive to the market in small vans. They open the back of the van that is filled with aquarium type containers. They start netting out the fish into containers and carry them into the market. The people in the market arrange them in buckets and attach something that gives the fish air to breath.

It is fun to watch people bargain for prices, fill their bags, hop on their bikes and head home.

There are also a lot of "fast food" stands. This morning I bought a piece of flat bread that was baked on a large pizza maker type of thing. It was very greasy, but had a great flavor.
